The world today is data driven, Data will continue to transform the way we work, interact and evolve, with great advancements in data science around digital experience with AI, AR and VR technology. Can you, bundle your creativity and use the power of such emerging technologies to make the arts more accessible and inclusive? Especially for the differently abled, children, and all other demographics that may need specific attention, as well as people from different cultural and economic backgrounds?

2.

Can new age technology solutions revolutionize the consumption of art by allowing visitors to experience art in a new way, a contactless experience for spaces like Auditoria and/or other parts of a cultural centre, including exhibitions, libraries, and common functional spaces like toilets? How can this contactless innovation lend itself to the safety and wellbeing of its visitors and staff, this could be through, timed ticketing, virtual queuing, introducing mobile tools to encourage social distancing , and robust evacuation plan through technological solutions?

3.

How can you employ technologies to revitalize user experience of a museum or a cultural centre into an interactive and world-class experience for its audience through the use of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and even Mathematics?

In what ways can this ’technology-driven yet steeped in tradition’ design create positive behavioural changes in society?

Tradition and modernity have often been seen as two sides of a coin. Usually the best ideas emerge when two such polarised views come together. So what strategies could one employ to look at technology and tradition as a common voice to create positive change ? For e.g. How do you include a visit to a cultural space in the schedules of young adults and families that usually look to movies and eating out as a medium of entertainment?

2.

Which are the events and activities that could generate interest and curiosity among the young to encourage them to explore the arts and culture more deeply?

Are there any new kinds of activities or art events that you feel can break away from the norm and create more value for the arts ? It can be an idea for an app, an event or a program.

How can the Live Museum become more entrepreneurial, and also emerge as a global hub for ideas, new business models, driving both culture and the economy?

Suggest strategies and business models that can help reduce fixed costs.

2.

What are the potential business models and revenue streams for a cultural centre, besides the income from tickets that could cater to all sections of society?

How can digital art shows or performance models help generate revenue—for eg. the “experience” economy has shown great potential for revenue-generation, how can these emerging domains be incorporated through ancillary income avenues?

How is it possible to future-proof an arts space to be relevant and efficient? What makes a space efficient and timeless? For e.g., what hanging and display systems would be relevant for decades to come? What design theories or strategies would you recommend?

With every generation, the ideology of every society shifts and that bring behavioural, spatial and experiential shifts. A centre of this nature is for posterity so how do you think that design can a create something timeless and relevant ?

2.

What would the auditorium of the future look like? What are the technologies, materials for the structure that could be recommended?

The traditional auditorium has undergone a makeover, where the auditorium needs to be flexible and take technology as its main counterpart to create a space that adapts to the artistic practice. How can we conceive of a 900 seater that has full flexibility in terms of structure, acoustics, seating and stage ?

3.

How would it be possible to design furniture and equipment made of materials which are recycled and have minimum impact on the environment, and/or uses Indian crafts/craftsmanship, but without any compromise on functionality, design, comfort or safety?

The public furniture can be any type but should aid in public interaction in open spaces.

4.

What are the various crafts and artisanal skills that could be incorporated into the building skin of a cultural centre/or as any of the finishes of the exterior or the interior? How would the inclusion of these skills create a new economic model for the sustenance of these artisanal communities?

India has a very rich cultural heritage and craft forms an integral part of this. One of the ways to support and contemporize the crafts sector of India is to integrate it with building technologies, thus providing a new economic model for the artisan while creating a new language for design which emerges from the region itself.

How can newer technologies create a carbon-neutral or near net-zero space through the choices made in the design, construction, and operations of the centre?

There are many ways in which buildings have achieved a green rating. There are many new materials that can help attain this, but what are the indigenous local technologies that support green building? Can they be contemporized to become the preferred building material of tomorrow for India, while aiding construction, and supporting the economic ecosystem and skill development? Can we look at new building sciences and inspirations like Parametricism, Biommicry etc. to achieve this ?

2.

What are the new materials required for building skin technologies/construction techniques/ finishes, etc? Can one consider optimizing natural resources and reducing load on lighting and HVAC systems?

In the traditional form of architecture from the warmer regions of India, one has seen jaali or lattice work come forward as the skin for maintaining a micro climate of homes, which was also contemporized by Joseph Allen Stein in a lot of his buildings, while water-based cooling systems in forts have been researched for many years. With the advent of new materials and technologies, what is the kind of engineered building skin which can be conceived to keep internal and external weather in check as per comfort levels, along with reducing operational load?
