Nivruti Rai is Vice President, Data Platforms Group (DPG) and Country Head Intel India at Intel Corporation. She is responsible for DPG India site engineering and execution, with a focus on delivering platforms aligned with the India team’s charter. In addition, she supports DPG and the Intel Sales and Marketing Group in strengthening customer, ecosystem, academic and research lab relationships in India.In 2013, her team was awarded an Intel Achievement Award for contributing to the development of the Minute Intel® architecture core. In her previous role as Vice President at Intel’s Platform Engineering Group, she led teams across the United States, Costa Rica, Israel, Malaysia and India, charged with developing innovative analog and mixed-signal intellectual property (IP) blocks and IP subsystems for Intel’s system-on-chip products. Anthony Downey is Professor of Visual Culture in the Middle East and North Africa (Birmingham City University). He is an editor at the peer-reviewed journal Third Text (Routledge) and the Journal of Digital War (Palgrave Macmillan), respectively. In 2021, he will join the editorial board of the Journal of Memory, Mind & Media (Cambridge University Press). He is the series editor for Research/Practice (Sternberg Press/MIT, 2019–ongoing). Downey is the Cultural and Commissioning Lead on multi-disciplinary GCRF/AHRC Network Plus research award that focuses on the role of cultural practices and digital technologies in the development of education provision for children with disabilities across the Middle East (2020-2024). This award was preceded by a GCRF/AHRC Research Development award in 2019. Ranjit Barot is a drummer, singer, music composer, music director and music arranger. He started playing at the age of 12, encouraged by his mother, the legendary Kathak dancer, Sitara Devi. His early career saw performances with Louis Banks & the Jazz Yatra Sextet, Pandit Ravi Shankar, the maestros, (late) Don Cherry & (late) Charlie Mariano. Ranjit Barot is today on the forefront of both worlds, the mainstream popular Indian/World music and Jazz fusion genres. He is the musical director for all of A.R. Rahman’s live concerts and is the drummer for guitar legend John Mclaughlin and the 4th Dimension band. Ranjit was the music composer and sound designer for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Commonwealth Games Delhi 2010, and Music Producer for MTV Unplugged (Season 1 & 2).

Justin McCarthy is a dancer, musician, instructor and choreographer. McCarthy lives in New Delhi where he gives piano lessons and has taught Bharatanatyam at the Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra since 1990. He has performed extensively as a soloist in Bharatanatyam and has choreographed many ensemble works in which he has appeared alongside dancers trained by him at the Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra. Rajinder Dudrah is Professor of Cultural Studies and Creative Industries in the Faculty of Arts, Design and Media at Birmingham City University. Mary Traynor is Associate Dean with responsibility for Academic Quality and Student Experience. Mary moved into academia following an early career with the BBC. During her BBC career, she worked at the BBC World Service and was one of the founding radio producers of BBC Radio 5. Mary also worked extensively for BBC Network Radio as a journalist and reporter. Mary later established the first Community Radio Station in Wales, a pioneering, award-winning project which brought together local students and communities. She has also worked on radio for development projects in South East Asia, facilitating participatory approaches to media. Ranjit Hoskote has been acclaimed as a seminal contributor to Indian art criticism and curatorial practice, and is also a leading Indian poet. He is the author of more than 30 books, including Vanishing Acts: New & Selected Poems 1985-2005 (Penguin, 2006), Central Time (Penguin/ Viking, 2014), Jonahwhale(Penguin/ Hamish Hamilton, 2018), and The Atlas of Lost Beliefs(Arc, 2020). Hoskote was the curator of India’s first-ever national pavilion at the Venice Biennale (2011). He co-curated the 7th Gwangju Biennale with Okwui Enwezor and Hyunjin Kim (2008). Among his curatorial projects are three transhistorical and trans-genre exhibitions developed for the Serendipity Arts Festival, Goa: Terra Cognita?(2016), Anti-Memoirs(2017), and The Sacred Everyday(2018). With Rahul Mehrotra and Kaiwan Mehta, Hoskote co-curated the exhibition-conference platforms The State of Architecture: Practices and Processes in India(National Gallery of Modern Art, Bombay, 2016) and State of Housing: Aspirations, Imaginaries and Realities(Max Mueller Bhavan, Bombay, 2018).

Interested in creative architecture that resonates with place, Gavin Robotham oversees projects in CRAB and advises other Architectural Practice on design. He is a graduate of the Brighton School of Architecture and the Bartlett School of Architecture of UCL where he has received major Prizes from the RIBA and the British Institution Prize. He was Knox Scholar at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design. 
He subsequently worked in a number of US and British offices, rapidly being recognised as a major design talent. Before cofounding CRAB Studio with Cook, he was lead designer for the interiors of the War Museum of the North in Manchester and subsequently lead designer for the interiors of the Magna Centre in Rotherham which was awarded the Stirling Prize for Architecture in 2001. He was Advisor and Design Lead in the London 2012 Olympic stadium and masterplan.
Gavin currently runs CRAB studio. In addition to his role at CRAB Studio, he continues to lecture and teach design at the Bartlett (UCL) and in various universities in Europe, Asia and the USA.

Professor Alison Honour is a UK National Teaching Fellow and Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She is also an Aurora national role model for Women in Higher Education Leadership for the Leadership Foundation, UK.Professor Honour developed the Oxford Brookes Social Entrepreneurship Award (OBSEA) programme which was an award winning programme, securing funding awards and selected by Higher Education Funding Council England as a best case study for embedding Social Entrepreneurship in HE curriculum and shortlisted and runner up for the Guardian Higher Education Awards.Recent EDI projects that Professor Honour has been leading on at BCU include a new Centre for Equality, Diversity & Inclusion in the Arts (CEDIA) and a new Centre for Indian Arts & Culture with Professor Rajinder Dudrah and the BCU Black Lives Matter and Antiracism plan with Imogeen Denton, BCU SU and BAME working groups of students and staff.

Alessandro Columbano is a Senior Lecturer and March Course Director at the Birmingham School of Architecture and Design. He co-established and leads the Collaborative Laboratory (Co.LAB), a teaching initiative and organization within the school that integrates teaching with inter-disciplinary design practice through live projects, staff research/design and consultancy.Alessandro has worked in architecture and research practices in Manchester and London focusing on residential and restoration of historic buildings, with further specialized experience in evidence-based design at Space Syntax. He has developed a portfolio of site-specific installations, architectural spaces and artworks commenting on the subversive qualities of our physical environments. Alessandro brings these characteristics forward to his teaching as an academic and researcher in the discussion of architectural pedagogy, the culture of creative environments, cinematic architectural design methodology and contemporary material vernacular. It is applied by engaging with the city’s cultural network through an ongoing process of collaborative practice, encouraging students to be entrepreneurial citizens through their design ideas.

Professor Rachel Sara joined Birmingham City University, where she holds the Oscar Naddermier Professor of Architecture chair, in September 2019. Her key responsibility is to lead research at the Birmingham School of Architecture and Design, and at Faculty level to contribute to the research directorate, as Associate Director of Research for the Faculty of Art, Design and Media.  She is currently also acting co-deputy Head of the School of Architecture and Design. In August 2020 she was awarded the National Teaching Fellowship for her work supporting diversity in architecture education through live projects which bridge the gap between industry and Higher Education. She leads the new Urban Cultures research cluster at BCU, which has quickly established a culture of research in and beyond the school. Her research explores: the way in which health and wellbeing can be affected by architecture; live project practice and pedagogy; and transdisciplinary architecture collaborations

Abhimanyu Dalal Born November 29, 1958 in Washington D.C. U.S.A

Abhimanyu Dalal received his undergraduate Diploma from the School of Architecture / CEPT, Ahmedabad in 1982 and his Master of Architecture in Urban Design degree from Harvard Graduate School of Design in 1984. Prior to establishing his own practice Abhimanyu Dalal Architects since 1988 in New Delhi, he was at the Washington D.C. office of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill. He has frequently contributed to architectural journals in India and is a visiting faculty at the Department of Urban Design, School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi.

Recipient of a number of architectural competition awards including the India Gate Memorial Park, New Delhi, and Martyr’s Memorial at Itanagar as well as AD awards a number of times. The practice is currently engaged with projects at various scales including urban conservation, institutional, residential and commercial projects. Recent works include the design proposal for the Redevelopment of Chandni Chowk and its surrounding areas, a heritage village at Amritsar and the design of school buildings at Mayo College Ajmer, Lawrence School Sanawar and Kishangarh along with the design of a number of private homes. Exploring the tactility of materials, the architecture is rooted in a reinterpretation of context and tradition.

Saurabh Srivastava is one of India’s leading entrepreneurs, investors and institution builders. He has worked extensively in the US, UK, Singapore and India. He is co-founder and former Chairman of NASSCOM (the Indian IT Industry Association).He co-founded and chaired key institutions focused on IT and entrepreneurship in India, including Indian Venture Capital Association; TiE NCR and Indian Angel Network. He created Infinity, India’s first and highly successful private sector VC Fund, which created several marquee companies such as India Bulls, India Games and Avendus. He has been involved in investing in around 100 start-ups and has personally mentored hundreds of entrepreneurs. He is a co-founder of Ashoka University, and has served on the Advisory Board of Imperial College Business School, London and was adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship at IIT Mumbai.He was presented with an award for his contribution to the Indian IT industry by Prime Minister Modi, and was awarded the Padma Shri, one of India’s highest civilian honours, in 2016.

Prasanto K Roy is a technology, policy and media professional. He is senior director at FTI Consulting, a Washington, DC-based advisory. He was earlier vice president at NASSCOM, and before that, President and Chief Editor at CyberMedia, India’s largest tech publishers, for over a decade. He writes for BBC, India Today, NDTV and many Indian newspapers. He is a part of technology and business shows and juries on BBC, NDTV, CNBC and other channels. His house in Delhi was India’s first certified green home was a pilot project for TERI. He is passionate about technology and access devices for education. He is a major in physics from St Stephen’s College, Delhi, and is active on Twitter at @prasanto.

M Anand is a green building professional at CII’s Centre of Excellence on Green Business and Environmental Management, Hyderabad. He is the Principal Counsellor and a senior team member of CII’s Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) since 1996.  Anand is closely involved in facilitating and training professionals on green building concepts. He shares India’s perspectives at World Green Building Council’s Forums, bringing his expertise on green built environment and sustainability, and has attended sessions around the globeGuinness World Records awarded Anand with a Certification of Participation as a Speaker in 2019. He has conducted more than 250 training programmes on green buildings in India and abroad. Anand was instrumental in launching the online IGBC Accredited Professional (AP) Exam and over 100 IGBC Students’ Chapters in premier Architectural & Engineering colleges across India. He is leading a team of over 40 professionals, who are involved in the spread & growth of green building movement in India.

She has worked on projects based in India, Nepal and Pakistan. She has been part of the international group to have worked with World Bank Projects for infrastructure works in Bhutan. She is visiting faculty member to SPA, New Delhi. Currently, she is the President of Indian Society of Landscape Architects (ISOLA). Jyoti Pande Lavakare is an independent financial journalist, author and clean air advocate. She started as a radio journalist in 1985, turned financial reporter in 1990 writing for both national and international media, but switched to writing regular columns on India’s entrepreneurial eco-system after relocating to California and back in the 2000s. Since 2015, she has been writing exclusively on air pollution, after co-founding Care for Air, a non-profit that works to build awareness of the health harms of air pollution and advocates for clean air for all. Jyoti also writes fiction and creative non-fiction and her first book, a personalised non-fiction narrative on the human cost of air pollution called “Breathing Here is Injurious To Your Health” was published by Hachette in Nov 2020.

Ravi Agarwal has an inter-disciplinary practice as an artist, environmental campaigner, writer and curator. Bridging the divide between art and activism, his work draws on the semiotics of the documentary to politicize the aesthetics of contemporary India. Using photography, video, text and installation it poses questions about ecology and society, culture, urbanity etc. He has been shown widely, including at dOCUMENTA XI, the Biennials of Havana (2019) Yinchuan (2018), Kochi (2016), Sharjah (2013) etc. He has curated large public art projects such as the Yamuna-Elbe, twin city project (2011), and Embrace our Rivers, an Indo-European project (2018), and was the photography curator for the Serendipity Arts Festival 2018 and 2019. His works are in several private and public collections, and he has authored and edited books and journals.
